“How AfterShift works — an active fitness session in VR where you practise one movement in one room to a score.”

AfterShift is an active fitness session you do inside a VR headset. You stay in one room and practise one movement for as long as you stay. A score records how the session goes, and you stop when you want the session to end.

This post explains what AfterShift is, how a session works and who it suits. It is coming soon on aeternusvita.io. You can get notified from the product page when it is ready.

What AfterShift is

AfterShift is an active fitness session for a VR headset. The subtitle on the listing is "Active fitness in VR" and the one-line pitch from the store copy states it plainly: "Practise one movement for an active fitness session in VR."

The long description gives the shape in a few short lines: "AfterShift is an active fitness session for a VR headset. You take it in one room. You practise one movement for as long as you stay, and the room is the space you have for that movement. A score records the session." It closes with: "AfterShift is made by aeternusvita.io. One room and one movement, with a score kept for the next session."

The feature list from the Play copy is:

  • Take an active fitness session in VR
  • Practise one movement in a single room
  • A score records the session
  • You choose how long you stay
  • The score is saved for next time

How a session works

You put on the headset and you are in the room. You start the movement and keep practising it. The score builds as you go, and that score is what records the session.

The Play copy puts it plainly: "You practise one movement for as long as you stay, and the room is the space you have for that movement." There is no course that moves you through different areas and no second room you switch to mid-session. You stay where you are and keep going with the same movement until you decide to stop.

How long you stay is yours to set. The listing says: "The length of the session is yours to set." You do not need to reach a set level or wait for a timer you cannot change. You practise, the score builds, and you end the session when you are ready.

When you stop, the score is saved on the device. The Play copy says: "When you stop, the score is saved on the device. Come back to the same room when you want another session." If you have ten minutes, you can do ten minutes. If you have more time, you can stay longer.

You already know the movement from the first visit, so there is nothing new to learn when you come back.

The room and the movement

Everything happens in one room. You open that room, you practise in it, and the next time you open it you are in the same place.

The room is the space you have for the movement, so the session stays contained in that one place. The Play copy frames it as "Practise one movement in a single room" — not a set of exercises you switch between, but one movement you can focus on.

The headset puts you inside the room, so you do the session from inside it rather than looking at it on a flat screen. The listing says: "You do the session from inside the headset." Because the room does not change, the next visit is the same room and the same movement.

Your score and going again

The score is how the session is recorded. While you practise, the score builds. When you stop, that score is the record of how it went.

That record is saved on the device and the feature list notes it as "The score is saved for next time". It stays on the device you played on, so it is there when you come back.

Going again uses the same steps as the first go. You return to the same room, you start the movement, and the score starts counting. The listing sums it up as "One room and one movement, with a score kept for the next session."

Where you can play it

AfterShift runs on a VR headset. The Play copy says: "AfterShift runs on the headset itself, and on a VR headset linked to a computer. Both put you in the same room with the same movement. You do the session from inside the headset."

That covers the two headset setups. You can play it standalone on the headset, and you can play it with a headset linked to a computer. In both cases you play from inside the headset and the room and movement are the same.

The project builds show how that is packaged. There is a signed Quest APK for Meta Quest and a signed Android XR AAB for Android XR, plus a hosted web build. Listings are prepared for Google Play, Meta Horizon, SideQuest and itch.io, with packages ready but not yet submitted. Nothing has been released or submitted to any store yet.

AfterShift is made by aeternusvita.io and is listed as Coming soon.

Who AfterShift suits

AfterShift suits people who want an active fitness session that is easy to start, easy to stop, and easy to return to.

It suits you if you like focus on one thing. You practise one movement in one room, and the score tells you how it went. If you prefer a single clear task over a set of modes that change the rules, this format fits.

It suits you if you want control over session length. The listing says "You choose how long you stay" and the session ends when you stop. If you have ten minutes, you can do ten minutes. If you have more time, you can stay longer.

It suits you if you want something you can return to without relearning. The listing says "You already know the movement from the first visit." The next visit is the same room and the same movement, so you can pick it up again quickly.

A note on fitness. AfterShift is an active fitness session, not a medical or training programme. How you feel during any active session depends on many factors, including your space, how you move and how long you stay. Take breaks when you need them, keep your play area clear, and stop when you want the session to end. If you have questions about fitness or health, speak to a qualified professional.

Coming soon — get notified

AfterShift is coming soon on aeternusvita.io. It is listed as Coming soon at https://www.aeternusvita.io/en/products/aftershift and has not been released yet. There is no release date, price, rating or review to quote, because nothing has been submitted or released.

When it is ready, the product page is where you will find it. You can open AfterShift and get notified from that page so you hear when it goes live.

If you want a quick summary before you go:

  • One room, one movement — practise the same movement for as long as you stay, and the room is the space for that movement
  • A score records the session and is saved on the device for next time
  • You choose how long you stay and you stop when you want the session to end
  • You already know the movement from the first visit, so the next session starts in the same room
  • Play it on the headset itself or on a headset linked to a computer — the room and movement are the same, played from inside the headset
  • Made by aeternusvita.io, coming soon — follow AfterShift to be notified
