Campfire Hangout: How a Single Campfire Room Works in VR
What Campfire Hangout is, how a visit in its single campfire room works and who it suits.
By AeternusVita
“What Campfire Hangout is, how a visit in its single campfire room works and who it suits.”
Campfire Hangout is a hangout room for a VR headset. You spend the session in one room with a campfire, you use one action while you are there, and a score records the visit so you can come back to the same room and the same score.
This post explains what Campfire Hangout is, how a visit works and who it suits. It is coming soon on aeternusvita.io. You can get notified from the product page when it is ready.
What Campfire Hangout is
Campfire Hangout is a hangout room for a VR headset. The one-line pitch from the Play listing says it directly: "Spend a visit in a campfire room, in a VR headset." The subtitle is "A campfire hangout in VR".
The long description sets the scope: "Campfire Hangout is a hangout room for a VR headset. You spend the session in one room with a campfire. You use one action while you are there. The fire and the room are the place for the visit, and you stay with them until you leave."
It continues: "A score records the visit. The score is saved on the device, so you can come back to the same campfire room and the score you kept." It closes with: "The room runs on the headset itself, and on a VR headset linked to a computer. The visit is that one room on either setup. You take it from inside the headset." And: "Campfire Hangout is made by aeternusvita.io. A single campfire room, and a visit you can return to."
The feature list is:
- A hangout room in a VR headset
- Spend the visit in one campfire room
- Use one action during the visit
- A score records the visit
- The score is saved so you can return
That is the whole scope as described in the brief: one room, one campfire, one action, and a score on the device.
How a visit works
You put on the headset and you are in the campfire room. The room and the fire are the place for the visit. You stay with them for the session, until you decide to leave.
You use one action while you are there. The listing keeps that wording plain and does not add extra tools or steps. The room is the setting, the action is what you do in it, and the visit is the time you spend there.
A score records the visit and is saved on the device. The listing says: "The score is saved on the device, so you can come back to the same campfire room and the score you kept." The next time you open the app, you return to the same room and the score you kept is still there.
You take the visit from inside the headset. You stay with the fire until you leave.
The campfire room
The campfire room is the whole place for the visit. The description says: "You spend the session in one room with a campfire." and "The fire and the room are the place for the visit, and you stay with them until you leave."
That single room is also what you return to. The Play copy says: "A single campfire room, and a visit you can return to." You come back to the same campfire room rather than a new space each time. The 12 localised listings carry the same meaning — one campfire room for the session, with the fire as the centre of the visit.
There is one place to be and one action to use while you are there. You enter, you spend the visit by the fire, and you stay until you leave. When you want another visit, you come back to the same room.
One action and a saved score
The visit has two parts: one action and a saved score.
The action is singular. The Play copy says: "Use one action during the visit" and the long description says: "You use one action while you are there." The listings do not name that action beyond "one action" and they do not describe extra modes. The visit is that single action in that single room.
The score records that visit. The Play copy says: "A score records the visit" and "The score is saved so you can return." The long description says: "The score is saved on the device, so you can come back to the same campfire room and the score you kept."
Saved on the device means the score stays with that headset or that linked setup. If you leave and come back later, the room and the score are still there. There is no mention of online accounts or cloud saves in the brief.
Together they give the visit a simple shape: you do one action by the fire, a score records it, and that score is kept for next time.
Where you can use it
Campfire Hangout runs on a VR headset. The Play copy says: "The room runs on the headset itself, and on a VR headset linked to a computer. The visit is that one room on either setup. You take it from inside the headset."
That covers the two headset setups. You can use it standalone on the headset itself, and with a VR headset linked to a computer. In both cases the visit is the same — that one room with the campfire, taken from inside the headset.
The project builds show how that is packaged. There is a signed Quest APK for Meta Quest at 79.6 MB and a signed Android XR AAB at 25.7 MB, both verified. There is also a hosted web build built with Godot WebAssembly at 38 MB, plus an HTML5 zip for itch.io at 9.8 MB. The project uses the quest target and the godot-web template and the desktop smoke test has passed.
Listings are prepared for Google Play, Meta Horizon, SideQuest and itch.io, with packages ready but not yet submitted. Every store shows "needs account — package ready". The status is "hosted, smoke PASS". Campfire Hangout is made by aeternusvita.io and is listed as Coming soon. There is no price, release date, rating or review to quote, because nothing has been released.
Who it suits
Campfire Hangout suits people who want a short, low-setup visit in VR that stays in one place.
It suits you if you want one steady setting. You spend the session in one room with a campfire, and the fire and the room are the place for the visit. If you prefer a single room to a sequence of areas, this fits.
It suits you if you like one clear action. The listing says you use one action while you are there. There are no extra steps to learn.
It suits you if you like a score you can keep. A score records the visit and is saved on the device, so you can come back to the same campfire room and the score you kept.
It is straightforward if you are new to a headset: one room, one action, and a score kept on the device for next time.
